1
prepare the Wall
Ensure the wall surface is clean, dry, and structurally sound. Remove dust, debris, or protrusions that could prevent panels from sitting flush. Use a stud finder to locate wall studs, and mark their positions lightly on the wall. Knowing where studs are located allows you to secure panels with fasteners for additional strength.
2
measure & plan layout
Measure the wall area and determine your starting point. Dry-fit panels on the floor or against the wall to understand the pattern and layout before installing. Plan your layout so cut panels fall along the edges of the wall, where they will be less noticeable.
3
Mark a level starting line
Using a level, mark a straight horizontal line across the wall where the first row of panels will begin. This ensures the installation remains straight as you work upward.
4
Cut Panels as needed
Panels can be cut using standard woodworking tools such as:
-
Circular saw
-
Table saw
-
Miter saw
Whenever possible:
-
Mark cuts from the backside of the panel
-
Use a fine-tooth blade for clean edges
5
Apply Adhesive
Apply a generous bead pattern of high-quality construction adhesive to the back of the panel. Press the panel firmly into place against the wall.
6
Secure Panel (Recommended)
For additional strength, fasten panels using finish nails or trim screws. Whenever possible, place fasteners through the tongue of the panel and into a wall stud. Fastening into studs provides the strongest hold and helps keep panels secure over time. The next panel will conceal the fastener.
7
Install Remaining Panels
Begin installation at the bottom of the wall and work upward. Each new panel slides into the groove of the previous panel and locks into place. Ensure each panel sits flush before installing the next. Continue across the wall, maintaining alignment so the mosaic pattern flows naturally.
8
Cut Edge Panels
Panels along the perimeter of the wall will likely require trimming. Measure carefully and cut panels to fit the remaining space.
9
Add Edge Trim (Optional)
A trim piece may be installed around the perimeter of the installation to create a clean finished border. Trim pieces are not included and can be selected to match your design preference.
